Iglesia Bautista el Buen
Pastor, TALMO GA
Good Shepherd Baptist Church (mission) continues to do well although many of the Hispanics that were living in the trailer park where the church is located have moved closer to Gainesville because of higher gas prices. Please pray for Pastor Roberto and his family. He still has a good group of folks coming and some new converts. Also pray for his seven-year-old nephew (Miguel Angel Tovar) living in Monterey Mexico who has been diagnosed with bone cancer and is receiving injections to combat this disease. This type of bone cancer is fatal; they are trusting in God for a miracle. Pastor Roberto’s wife is also recovering from surgery. They appreciate your prayers.
Irapuato, MX
What a blessing to hear from Brother Javier that the mission in San Antonio El Rico (out of the church in Irapuato) recently saw a first day total of over 400 adults and children in their first VBS. Brother Javier reports that the church in Irapuato is also growing again, after an unfortunate set back. A young evangelist/missionary who began coming to their church has caused division within the church and has left with about one quarter of the flock. Paul warned us of “Ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing” who would creep in and lead astray. Pastor Javier was disheartened by this, but is determined to lead on and we are confident that the Lord will bless and strengthen he and the congregation from this experience. Also pray for the speedy recovery for his dear wife who had to undergo an emergency appendectomy recently and is doing fine.
Liberty Baptist Church
Believing that God blesses churches that sponsor missions, we had our first missionary to present his calling and the people immediately fell in love with this man. At the right is Rafael Gomez missionary to Cartagena, Columbia, South America. What a blessing it was to have him in our home for a week.
As an answer to much prayer, God also has sent a brother to our fellowship with a great desire to win souls. Renaldo Perez, with his wife and two kids, have been attending for about three months. He’s not a preacher, yet!
We are rejoicing over the recent additions to the church and souls that have been won to the Lord. Augustine Jimenez is a convert of about 3 months. He has been a widower for about four years. His 16 year- old son also accepted Christ and attends regularly. Miguel, (not shown) has been saved about six weeks. Last week, in Mexico, his 25-year-old son was killed in a car crash. Please pray for comfort for him and his family.
God has also blessed us through a different outreach. For about three months, Sharon has been teaching English as a Second Language to some of the church folks as well as some others in the community. Pray for this ministry.
Please pray for the Torres family. Ofelia had surgery last week and is recovering well. Seems like sickness is everywhere. What a wonderful thing that we know THE GREAT PHYSICIAN!
Paul wrote in Philippians 1:21 “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” What a statement! Our desire is to see Hispanics have this desire. So many live for everything else, just like the rest of the world, with no thought of eternity.
We want to thank each and every brother and sister in Christ who has prayed and supported us and we pray that you will continue with us in the work of the Lord. God bless you!
